Non-Metallic Inclusions Characterization in Steel (ASTM E45 A)

Problem solved:
The solution is designed  to classify non-metallic inclusions in steels and alloys according to their brightness and morphological parameters, and  measure volumetric quantums of different inclusions. Measurements are performed according to ASTM E45 A standard.

Solution
The image is first preprocessed to remove artifacts and equalize intensity. Then the inclusions are specified according to their brightness characteristics. The specified inclusions are classified according to the applied standard

Determined parameters:
The method can average the results from several view fields or take the results from the most polluted field.
The report form is a table of parameters, including:

	Grades for different inclusion types
	Volumetric quantums for different inclusion types
	Inclusions dispersion parameters
